Tony Rossini
was discovered by Scotty Moore, guitarist for Elvis
Presley, and was signed to Sun Records at the early age of 13.
Sam Phillips, owner of the label released five records on young
Tony. Soon afterwards he was signed to exclusive recording
contracts with Mercury and Monument Records for a total of 4
releases as a singer/songwriter. Moving from Memphis, Tennessee
to Hollywood, California he was signed to a production contract
that led to recording for Capital Records. During his contract
with Capitol, Tony recorded with the likes of Greg Allman, the
“Average White Band” and “Toto.”
From the bistros of Century City, to the coastal clubs from San
Francisco to San Diego, Tony crafted his voice and personality,
playing packed houses all over the states of California,
Washington, Oregon and Nevada. Tony has had the privilege of
shared billing with many great performers like The Righteous
Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Three Dog Night, Joe
Walsh, and The Platters.
Bill Medley, of
the Righteous Brothers, heard Tony singing in Long Beach, CA and
asked him to perform a Neil Diamond tribute at the Righteous
Brother’s owned clubs throughout the southland of California
and Nevada
known as “The
Hop”. Tony’s natural gift for the sound of Neil Diamond made
him a favorite with audiences everywhere. He has never been an
impersonator, but rather has a voice so similar as to create a
wonderful celebration of the songs made famous by this legend
that span the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. |
